One of our Four Areas of Focus is Worshipping Together. In corporate worship, we build genuine and fruitful relationships among our churches through social engagement and worship gatherings.
Each time we gather to worship we:
- Are united as members of the Body of Christ through faith in Jesus.
- Live as an expression of God’s Kingdom on earth, focusing on the ministry of reconciliation.
- Actively confront racism and the consequent pervasive and persistent sins of racial injustice in our culture and our churches.
Our experience of unified corporate worship takes many forms: cross-congregational worship, participation in unifying community events, and regular community prayer are just a few of the ways we worship together in the pursuit of unity.
Quarterly Unity Prayer
Once a quarter, we gather for unity prayer, interceding for the needs of our community and nation. Organized by Michael Carowitz, following the former leadership of Shon Owens, this prayer gathering rotates church locations as all our other gatherings do, sometimes even being incorporated into our Leaders meeting. Pulpit Swaps and Combined Services
As a collaborative community of leaders, ministers, and lay people, we seek to meet the needs of the body of Christ at large as we encourage each other to experience and welcome our different cultural expressions of worship. As such, churches and community leaders within the Undivided community often participate in “pulpit swaps” and combined services. By bringing different leaders and congregations into less familiar spaces, we increase each others’ understanding and appreciation for the beautiful diversity of how we all worship.
